- A man has been charged after a hit-run incident that left a motorcyclist fighting for his life.
Police allege the Pakenham man, 22, was driving a white Toyota coupe when it collided with the motorcycle in Dandenong on Friday. The collision occurred at the intersection of the South Gippsland Highway and Princes Highway about 9:50 pm.
Police allege the driver failed to stop after the accident. The motorcyclist was taken to hospital, suffering critical injuries.
Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives arrested a man, 22, at 1 am yesterday. He was charged with negligently causing serious injury, and failing to stop and to render assistance.
The man was bailed to appear before the Melbourne Magistrates Court tomorrow – Shannon Deery
