- A P-plate driver has lost his licence for 13 months after he was caught driving at nearly three times the legal alcohol limit for a fully licensed driver in Melbourne’s south-east.
Police caught the 21-year-old Frankston man, who was driving a Lexus sedan, in Carrum Downs about 7:50pm on Thursday.
Officers pulled him over at the intersection of Ballarto Road and McClelland Drive as part of Operation RAID, a summer blitz aimed at removing all drunk and drugged drivers.
Police said officers breath-tested the man, who allegedly posted a reading of .136.
P-plate drivers are supposed to have a zero reading.
The man lost his licence for 13 months and was hit with a $599 fine – Jared Lynch
